Job Summary:
Due to continued growth at Henderson Properties, our Maintenance Department is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator. This is a full time position.
This position is responsible for the following duties:
Coordinate responses to internal and external customer needs.
Monitor and respond to maintenance/service requests received via phone, voice-mail, e-mail, and company website.
Generate, schedule and monitor work order activity through completion.

This position is responsible for the repair of products in the customer’s home. Products repaired include the following home appliances: Washers & Dryers, Gas & Electric Stoves, Microwave Ovens, Dishwashers, Trash Compactors, Garbage Disposers, Refrigeration (non-sealed systems), and other home appliances. This position provides timely and quality repairs of customers’ products while maintaining high customer service. Additionally, technicians promote and sell additional products and services that directly impact the profitability of the company. We provide a service van, specialized tools, uniforms, laptop computer, cell telephone, and periodic training.Qualifications
To provide the proper customer focus, the In-Home Service Technician must:
Work as a dedicated team member to ensure fast, flexible and expert service to every customer
Demonstrate a sense of urgency to meet customer time commitments
Successfully complete all Technician II training elements within required timeframes
Meet key performance metrics and/or productivity goals as defined by the business
Provide knowledgeable and courteous repair service
Continuously look for methods to improve business performance and enhance the customer experience
Follow the Value Added Services Process (i.e., selling extended warranties, water filters, etc.) by effectively communicating the benefits to the customer
Provide direction to a Technical Helper, as applicable
Ability to receive truck stock at home if the company vehicle is retained at the technician’s place of residence or other designated location.
Mentor other technicians, as applicable
Maintain truck stock inventory within the prescribed company guidelines and standards
Follow the truck maintenance schedule and keep a clean, organized truck
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

Make no mistake about it. A Service Technician position is a maintenance position. A Service Technician is hands-on professional who acts under the direction of the Service manager and performs installations, repairs, and replacements for a multi-million dollar apartment community. The ideal Service Technician has a “can do” attitude combined with a jack-of-all-trades aptitude in appliance repair, carpentry, plumbing, machine and equipment repair, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, and carpentry/framing.
A Service Technician is also a Customer Service position. The ideal candidate must be able to address the concerns and maintenance needs of our residents in a friendly and professional manner. A successful Service Technician must have good organizational abilities, follow-up skills, and attention to details both in their work and when communicating with our residents.
Are you the right person for the Job?
The ideal Service Technician may not necessarily have an apartment maintenance background. However, the right candidate must be HVAC-certified and have 2-3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in some form of facilities or building environment.
